Directs all domestic food color sales activities of the Color Division to achieve planned and approved sales volume and profit objectives.  Establish the plans, policies and procedures governing the sales activities of this division within the general operating plans and policies of the company.  Staff, train and motivate the sales group toward superior productivity to meet corporate objectives.  Develop and monitor strategic sales plan to achieve future growth and direction.  Conducts research and makes inquires for recommendations of acquisition candidates.





  • Directs the preparation of the annual and three-year sales forecast for the annual and three-year LRP plans and budget.  Monitors success in reaching forecasted goals.
  • Directs through the activities of account managers, distributors and inside sales representatives to achieve annual sales goals.
  • Implements color pricing as developed by marketing to insure compliance with legal, corporate and departmental policy to meet corporate profit needs.
  • Gathers marketplace intelligence on the activities of major users and competitors for review by the President and internal staff.
  • Advises Director of Marketing of anticipated annual needs for purchase of colors that we do not produce.
  • Assists General Manager and Director of Marketing in long and short-term planning efforts.  
  • Assists General Manager as needed on specific projects.
  • Identifies possible acquisition candidates for review by President, Color Group and acquisition staff at Sensient Technologies Corporation.
  • Assists General Manager in concert with the Finance Department in budget controls.
  • Investigates, advises Director of Marketing and introduces profitable new products to supply market needs profitably.
  • Investigates and introduces existing products into new markets profitably.
  • Advises Director of Marketing regarding all dye sales to jobbers and distributors and competitors in accordance with product availability and corporate pricing policy.
  • Advises account managers of impending product shortages and assists marketing in product allocations.
  • Implements policy on sales terms, packaging and freight terms in accordance with corporate pricing and profit objectives.
  • Review monthly financial and sales results and recommends corrective action when needed to meet profit objectives.
  • Review and recommends appropriate data processing information retrieval.
  • Achieves affirmative action goals based on opportunity in accordance with the annual affirmative action compliance program
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
  • Strong computer skills

  • Ability to assess the global market place as well as domestic
  • Ability to comprehend the breadth of the corporation’s development and growth
  • Absence of color blindness.




College graduate, BA, MBA or equivalent degrees in marketing.   Technical undergraduate degree or minor is highly desirable.
