Job Summary:


The Sensient Sales Representative Trainee will participate in a program designed to prepare one for a career in field sales. The Sales Training program consists of departmental rotations which include:

  • Customer Service.
  • Sales Support and Marketing.
  • Technical Training in the applications lab.
 

The Sales Trainee can expect to spend several weeks or months in various departments during this training program with the ultimate goal of achieving the ability to perform as an Account Manager for Sensient.  The Sales Trainee Program is designed to provide a well-rounded, thorough understanding of the specialty value-added applications within our organization and to systematically grow and develop talent over a 2-year period, in preparation to eventually become a successful Account Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Learning the company business, strategy, and products, all in depth.
  • Learning, observing, and practicing in Customer Service and R&D by the stipulated timeline.
  • Learning all essential sales functions and process by completing the training program and study assignments.
  • Updating job and business knowledge by participating in improvement opportunities.
  • Undertaking other assignments as delegated by supervisors.
 
What does a Sales Account Manager do for Sensient?

The Sales Account Manager is a professional salesperson with the objective to maximize sales volume and gross margin, for all of our product lines. This includes achieving the territory sales plan while accomplishing good will and enhancing the Sensient Corporate Image with all customers and prospects. Our Sales Account Managers are responsible for winning new accounts and growing existing business. Account Managers are based in a home office and are required to travel throughout their assigned territory.

 
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in food science, chemistry, or applied sciences.

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in sales or R&D of related industries

  • Candidates must be interested in a career in outside, professional sales.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of products and learning how to sell through on the job training.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Being a fast learner.
