QC Technician III



The Microbiology Quality Control Technician assures the compliance of Sensient Colors hygiene and good manufacturing practices standards within the manufacturing facility, including raw materials, finished goods, equipment and employees to guarantee the customer requirements. In this position, the employee performs the microbiology analysis needed to guarantee the food safety and quality of the manufactured products. Performs the practices required to guarantee the manufacturing conditions according to the Quality Assurance System.

  • Conducts routine testing according to QC methods and protocols: Chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, finished goods and in process control
  • Assists with Quality control inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Use of basic statistical tools (paretto analysis, control charts, correlation and regression analysis)
  • Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
  • Hygiene check and evaluation of employees (production / warehouse), manufacturing facilities and warehouse
  • Conduct testing for Environmental Monitoring Program
  • Microbiological, physical analysis of packaging material
  • Microbiological, chemical and physical analysis evaluation of well and process water
  • Sampling and re-testing of slow movement inventory, expired products and obsolete inventory

  • Knowledge and experience in Method Development & Improvement
  • Effective communication within and between all the parts of the organization (Technical Service, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Production).
  • Task prioritization & communication skills
  • Conducts more complex examination and quality control inspections on products, materials etc. at various stages of the production process
  • Ability to quickly learn and work within a team
  • Able to conduct process capability analysis, correlation and regression analysis to assess variables causing process variation
  • Ability to use basic analytical instruments, collect, and organize results to internal reports with low degree of supervision
  • Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards
  • Uses best practices and knowledge to improve processes 

  • Technical Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science or equivalent
  • More than 3 years of experience in a Quality Control & Product Safety or manufacturing environment
  • Office professional Management (Excel, PPT, Word, etc).
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (e.g., handling of chemicals and glassware, preparation of standards and reagents, proper measuring techniques, data management, housekeeping).
  • Intermediate English working proficiency
