Quality Control Manager

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Lead the activities related with the Quality Control lab to assure the Quality and product safety throughout the compliance of the Integral Quality management System.

Give technical and analytical support to Operations to improve and maintain the right standard of the processes.

Verify the compliance of raw materials and final product according to established specifications.

Ensure that our products and services are according to customer expectations.

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Manages the Quality Control team activities and setting of priorities according to business needs ensuring quality and product safety of food colors.

  • Drives process improvements initiatives throughout the organization to achieve plant level KPI’s.

  • Ensures methods for Measurement Systems Analysis (Gage R&R)

  • Works with R&D to establish specifications on new products to ensure reliability.

  • Conducts ongoing benchmark assessment for efficiency improvements

  • Uses best practices and knowledge to improve processes and procedures.

  • Monitoring and control of expense budget for the department.

  SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Effective communication within and between all the parts of the organization (Technical Service, Regulatory Affairs, Customer service, Production, Planning)

  • Ability to bench mark test method protocols within and across the industry.

  • Ability to lead Formal Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions.

  • Knowledge and experience in Method Development & improvement

  • Prioritizes methods that need to be improved.

  • Able to conduct process capability analysis, correlation and regression analysis to assess variables causing process variation.

  • High communication skills and customer focus

  • Good ability of English working proficiency

  • Ability to partner with peers with in and across BUs to set priorities and achieve goals

 EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent education in a Technical Degree (Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science).

  • A science based Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Preferably with a certification in Six sigma or related methodology.

  • Proficient in English language (speaking, writing, reading)

  • >8 years of experience of Quality Control & Product Safety roles within a manufacturing environment in a food or chemical industry.

  • Previous Supervisor experience managing QC analysts is required.

  • Familiar with the test methodology used in QC laboratory.

  • Operations background or experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (e.g., handling of chemicals and glassware, preparation of standards and reagents, proper measuring techniques, data management, housekeeping).

  • Office professional Management (Excel, PPT, Word, etc).

 

INTERACTIONS & LEADERSHIP:


Works closely with cross functional teams (production, supply chain, maintenance, R&D, planning, customer service)

Provides technical guidance to employees and colleagues.

Coaches team members on performance, completes employee performance reviews, makes merit recommendations and participates in recruitment.
