Primary objective of the role will be lead Six Sigma improvement projects and work directly with stakeholders and process owners at Sensient manufacturing facilities. 

 

You will drive Process Capability and overall improvement:  Develop, Advocate and enable tools and methodologies to drive overall improvement.  These tools may include, but are not limited to Six Sigma, Lean, project management, and other improvement techniques.

 

Your excellent communication skills and an ability to partner at all levels will allow you work on complex requirements for a wide range of customers and train, coach and mentor team members

 

The position is based in St. Louis, MO. with occasional travel to Sensient facilities globally. Travel will be approximately 25-50%. The typical duration of a Black Belt assignment will be a minimum of a few months to 1 year.

 

Additional Duties:

  • Lead Lean Sigma projects/kaizen as assigned by the Corporate Supply Chain Leaders

  • Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful completion of a Lean Sigma project/kaizenPerform capability and other statistical assessments with appropriate follow-up work to reduce variability and/or achieve OEE targets.

  • Develop recommendations and implement improvements to support corporate and plant goals, requirements, and sustainment of improvements

  • Mentor and coach project teams on the application of Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools

  • Establish key Sensient performance metrics. 

  • Maintains and monitors key Sensient performance metrics using dashboards for monitoring progress, achievements and business results.

  • Attend and assess project/kaizen review sessions.

  • Provide summaries, conclusions, and presentations related to project completion and findings.

  • Develop and share new tools and techniques to further the advancement of Lean Sigma.

  • Plan, support, and provide training to others in the Lean Sigma methodology including DMAIC

  • Advocate and influence appropriate change across Sensient, including project selection.

  • Drive process excellence, visibility and awareness across the businesses.

  • Develop both present and future business leaders.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.

 

 

What do you need to bring with you?  

 

Ideally a University Degree in Business, Engineering or Related Technical Discipline.

Two years of experience in coaching and mentoring

Experience in chemical specialty manufacturing with GMP requirements

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is required.

Experience with DMAIC and/or DMADV methodologies.
