This position manages the engineering and maintenance requirements in an efficient, professional, and effective manner. These responsibilities will be performed in compliance with all company and regulatory programs including, but not limited to:  SQF, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, FDA, USDA and EPA policies and procedures.



  • Develop, engineer, implement and monitor all aspects of capital projects at the Amboy IL plant.
  • Develop adequate documentation to justify proposed investments in accordance with Sensient procedures.
  • Assist in developing and implementing annual capital plan.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a 5-year capital plan. 
  • Work with internal and external sources to achieve cost effective solutions.
  • Execute projects according to the corporate finance manual. 
  • Coordinates development, engineering, procurement and installations within budget.  
  • Manage financial records as it relates to the particular investment/capital projects.
  • Monitor project performance after implementation supporting project owners.
  • Meet reporting requirements by submitting abbreviated daily and detailed month end reports.
  • Identify and help develop process and efficiency improvements.
  • Provides support and guidance to the maintenance department.
  • Develop/maintain KPI’s to guide the facility preventative maintenance program.
  • Work with the safety and environmental programs as needed. 
  • Incorporate safety and environmental goals into all projects.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in the food industry preferred.  New graduates with Co-Op or Internship experience will be considered
  • Previous supervisor experience a plus.
  • Must have good organizational skills and communication skills, both written and oral are necessary.
  • Must have good computer (including MS Office) and analytical skills. AUTO CAD a plus.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot problem(s) back to its root cause and develop corrective solutions to complex industrial and/or production situations.
  • Experience selecting and managing contractors.
  • Experience with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Assumes all other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager
